Dictate Your Documents in Word<\/h5>\n

Dictation lets you use speech-to-text to author content in Office\u00a0with a microphone and reliable internet connection. It’s a quick and easy way to get your thoughts out, create drafts or outlines, and capture notes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

How to use Dictation<\/b><\/p>\n

  1. Sign in to your\u00a0Microsoft account using Edge, Firefox, or Chrome.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Go to\u00a0<\/span>Home<\/b>\u00a0>\u00a0<\/span>Dictate<\/b>. First-time users will be prompted to enable microphone permissions.\"\"<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n
  3. A mic icon will appear – wait for it to turn on to be sure it started listening.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Tip:<\/b>\u00a0On Windows, use\u00a0<\/span>Alt + `<\/b>\u00a0(backquote) to toggle the mic.<\/span><\/p>\n

    1. Insert punctuation any time by saying them explicitly.<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Fix mistakes with your keyboard or Dictation suggestions without having to turn off the mic icon.<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. Exit dictation with\u00a0<\/span>Close<\/b>(<\/span>X<\/b>) in the Dictation toolbar or pressing the button in the ribbon again.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
