Like we mentioned before, several factors influence meeting quality, most of them are easily fixed. Whether it\u2019s new devices needed, a more robust internet connection, or some simple configuration of your video conferencing setup.<\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\"><\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\">In this blog post, we\u2019re going to discuss latency as a measure of quality in your video conferences and how it can negatively impact user experience.<\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\"><\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\">What is latency?<\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\"><\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\">Latency\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cloudflare.com\/learning\/performance\/glossary\/what-is-latency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-segment-action=\"add\" data-segment-id=\"490b4e0c-f64b-11ea-a046-d4ae5292c2ac\">defines how long<\/a>\u202fyour video and audio took to arrive at the server and for the video and audio of others to come to you. An accepted value is up to 80-120ms. Of course, the lower the latency, the better, as this will help reduce the chance that participants will start talking over each other in a meeting.<\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\"><\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\">How can I improve it?<\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\"><\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\">The distance between you and our servers is what matters here. Therefore, when setting up your PBX, pick the correct zone for your users so that they can benefit from having servers as close to them as possible.<\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\"><\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\">Incidentally, you can check your latency and other statistics from inside a meeting by expanding the cogwheel button and clicking on the chart button.<\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\"><\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\">The image below shows a good connection with no issues. If you see big fluctuations in your stats, someone in your network might be attaching some big files to an email.<\/div>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/45.33.92.219\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/image2.png\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-12927 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/45.33.92.219\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/image2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"607\" height=\"457\" \/><\/a><\/strong>At the bottom part of WebMeeting\u2019s statistics, you can see the server you\u2019re connected to and its location. Ensure you\u2019re connected to the correct server\/zone for you and your PBX users.
