On December 31, 2019, the World Health Organi<\/span>z<\/span>ation<\/span>‘<\/span>s (WHO) China office heard the first reports of a\u00a0<\/span>previously-unknown<\/span>\u00a0virus behind several pneumonia cases in Wuhan, a city in Eastern China with over 11 million<\/span>\u00a0resident<\/span>s<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What started as an epidemic mainly limited to China has now become a truly global pandemic.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On\u00a0<\/span>March\u00a0<\/span>1<\/span>1<\/span>\u00a0the WHO officially declared the Covid-19 outbreak a pandemic.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What happened between December 31, 2019, to March 11, 2020,\u00a0<\/span>that<\/span>‘<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0another story.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

COVID-19\u00a0<\/span>P<\/span>andemic Impact on\u00a0<\/span>E<\/span>ducation<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

The\u202fCOVID 19<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>pandemic<\/span>\u202fhas affected educational systems worldwide, leading to the near-total closures of schools, universities and colleges.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Most governments around the world have temporarily closed educational institutions\u00a0<\/span>in an attempt to<\/span>\u00a0reduce the spread of COVID 19.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Approximately 1.077\u202fbillion\u202f<\/span>students<\/span>\u202fare currently affected due to school closures in response to the pandemic. According to\u202f<\/span>UNICEF<\/span>\u202fmonitoring, 53 countries are currently implementing nationwide closures and 27 are implementing local closures, impacting about 61.6\u00a0<\/span>percen<\/span>t of the world’s student population.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Reopening of Schools, Colleges and Universities\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

That was the first time in history when millions of students were out of educational institutions.<\/span>\u00a0Everybody was concerned about the virus. Nobody knows when the situation will return to normal.\u00a0<\/span>Time<\/span>\u00a0has<\/span>\u00a0passed by nothing<\/span>\u00a0has<\/span>\u00a0happened<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>so<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>p<\/span>eople realize\u00a0<\/span>they\u00a0<\/span>have to<\/span>\u00a0adopt the new normal<\/span>. Governments around the globe decided to reopen educational institutions.\u00a0 Universities and schools went back to the normal. But that\u00a0<\/span>wasn<\/span>‘<\/span>t<\/span>\u00a0normal that was new normal. After a huge loss of education, students started coming back to institutions<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
